At City Bikes, we really like taking the time to show you all your choices so that you get the bike you will love. Something to keep in mind is that just like with buying a car, the quality and availability of warranty service for your bike is much of what you are buying. City Bikes has far more mechanics than any other DC bike shop, and we do over 10,000 repairs a year, most the same day.

We often tell people that in many ways, which bike you buy is less important than where you buy it. Most bike brands won't tell you this, but there can be a lot of similarities between brands, especially at the entry level price points. The quality of any given bicycle is really a matter of the care the brand takes in design and the care put into the assembly at the bike shop level. There can be big differences in how thorough an assembly a shop gives your bike, and the dealer who spends the extra time lubricating, adjusting, and perfecting your bike usually don't have "buy two for the price of one", so beware if a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is.

City Bikes offers Free 30 day and 1 Year Tune-Ups to cover the major servicing intervals on your new bike purchase, and Lifetime Free Adjustments for anything that might come up for as long as you own your bike.  Free adjustments refer to minor adjustments that do not require mounting in the workstand (insurance regulations require us to record a workstand transaction) and at the tech's discretion. We try our best to fit you for the best bike for you budget, but sometimes things just don't work out. If you are unsatisfied with your bike for any reason during the first month, you may return or exchange it within 14 days, as long as it is like new condition. See all terms and conditions here. 

Warranties against defects vary by manufacturer, but bike frames are usually 5 years to lifetime, parts and accessories usually 2 years, with exclusions. At CityBikes & ElectriCityBikes, we are constantly curating our product selection from the most reputable brands, weeding out any problem items before they become a headache for you. Despite our best efforts, issues do come up, if so bring it back to the shop asap.
